CORNACEAE Cornus drummondi Meyer. This dog- wood, common in thickets and in wood- land borders, was observed growing singly or in small thickets in loess prairie at 19 sites. It was common also in the adjoin- ing coves. Cornus fiorida L. Scattered individuals of flowering dogAvood, a very attractive ' plant in springtime, were seen in Swarnes and Cave Creek prairies. J Ericaceae ! Vaccinium arboreum Marsh. Farkle- berry, or tree huckleberry, a plant of rocky woods, was collected in rock prairie at Government Rock. Vaccinium vacillans Torr.
