GOLDCREST, UK.

Goldcrest (Regulus regulus) foraging in a hawthorn bush. Together with the firecrest, the goldcrest is the smallest bird in the UK. Although we have a resident population, goldcrests make regular sea crossings and some are winter visitors from the Continent. The Holy Island of Lindisfarne is often a first landfall for migrating birds.
