Police and security outnumber protesters at Cuadrillas controversial shale gas site near Blackpool.

Anti-fracking protesters continue protesting each day at Cuadrillas contraversial exploratory shale gas drilling site on Preston New Road, Little Plumpton. The site is currently being prepared by a Bolton firm, A. E. Yates, who won the £ million contract. Residents and Lancashire County Council opposed Cuadrillas plan to frack for shale gas but the decision was overuled by Secretary for State, Sajid Javid. Preston New Road Action Group took Sajid Javid to the High Court in Manchester on 15th. March 2017 in an attempt to overturn Javids decision. They are now awaiting the judges decision.
