Such, however, is the situation on the LittleRock Railway & Electric Companys system in LittleRock, Ark. Of these eight switches, two have been electricallyoperated for some time and four are now being equippedwith Cheatham switches. The other two may also beequipped in the near future. The management believes,even with the small number of switches it has to oper-p/e, that it pays to use electric switches both from atime-saving and a safety standpoint. As noted, the cashwagon consists of a Ford chassis with a specially con-structed heavy truck body, on which truck is placed avery heavy two-compartment iron box built from boilerplate. This iron box is chained to the truck by a heavylog chain, which is securely padlocked to the sides ofthe chassis. The box has a lower and an upper com-partment, each of which is equipped with an iron door,which is padlocked shut.
