BRIDGET. 2^,) REV. PATRICK FRANCIS McSWEENY, PASTOR OP ST. BRIDGETS CHURCH. THE \\ev. Dr. Patrick Francis McSweeny, the ])res-ent jiastor of St. Bridgets, was Loni in Ireland,July 9th, 1838. He came to America with his parentsin April, 1849, in the eleventh year of his age. Hewas educated j)rinci})ally at the Jesuit College in Six-teenth Street, New York. In October, 1850, he enteredthe College of the Propaganda, in Rome. Diu-ing hisstay in that world-renowned institution he was createdDoctor of Philosophy in 1858, and Doctor of Divinity in1862. Having been ordained priest on June 14th ofthe last named • year, he retm-ned to New York, and wasappomted by the late Archbishop Hughes to the assistantpastorship of St. Josephs. In July of the fo
