Dozens of Romanians protested in Kensington, London near the Romanian embassy against plans for a vast opencast goldmine in Rosia Montana, Transylvania. They say that the mine's owners, RM Gold (Services) limited, a Canadian owned company will use 13,000 tonnes of cyanide per annum in processing the gold, and that four mountains and historic Roman god mining galleries will be destroyed.
