The 2nd Battallion of the Rifles march through the streets of Croydon where a commemorative plaque celebrating the regiment was unvield by the Mayor Avril Slipper. The battalion was granted Freedom of Entry to the borough in honour of its valiant duty in Afghanistan, and this second visit will mark the soldiers’ resumption of training, on the following day, as they prepare for their return to the war-torn country.
