INDIAN OCEAN (Jan. 13, 2020) – Marine Corps Cpl. Dayzhon Mekonnen, a military police officer assigned to Command Element, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, right, and Navy Lt. Brian Schmidt, the security officer aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Makin Island (LHD 8), demonstrate a personnel inspection procedure during naval security forces sentry training aboard Makin Island. Makin Island, flagship of the Amphibious Ready Group, along with the 15th MEU, is conducting operations in the 6th Fleet area of responsibility.
