The former Shears Inn, Lower Head Road, Huddersfield ,UK (closed 1909) . Huddersfield's first Co-operative Society was formed at the inn in 1860, with a membership of thirteen people. It may have once formed part of Huddersfield Hall on Tinker Croft . The Shears stood next to the Spotted Cow Inn (later giving its name to a more modern pub on the site) . Shears Court was also known as Booths Court, Shears Yard and Booths Yard (not to be confused with another Booths Court, in Temple Street. A Cattle Fair was once held In the open space in front of these buildings
