Southport's Mad Dog 10k affirmed its status as one of the town's biggest events with another huge event. Some 2,500 runners took part in the charity run around the coastal resort. The MAD DOG 10K is a great fun event that takes place along the Southport shore line, normally with 2500 runners taking part. Some 2,500 runners took part in the run - with all the places having been snapped up by eager participants in just 48 hours. Among the participants were seasoned athletes, schoolchildren from around the town, and a few eccentric individuals in incredible fancy dress.
