BLACK, LTD., 4, 5 & 6 SOHO SQUARE, LONDON, PLATE I.—Thorax, showing Early Tuberculosis of Lungs. Thorax of a child. Single-impulse exposure, approximately j-J^ of a second. Intensifier screen slight irregularity of the right side of the diaphragm, increased opacity of the hilus shadows, with peri-bronchial thickening at the roots of the lungs. This can be seen passing upwards to the apices, where the detailcan be traced to the periphery of the lung. The clinical history was typical of a tubercular lesion—loss of weight, cough, elevation of temperature, and night sweats. The diagnosis was based on a number of plates taken indifferent positions, combined with a consideration of the clinical history of the case, and the subsequent date (June 1918) confirms the accuracy of this diagnosis.
