BodhiTree at Wat Chet Yot close up
Wat Chet Yot is to be found in northwest of the city centre of the northern Thai city Chiang Mai. Besides the very famous Mahabodhi temple (replique of the one in Bodghaya) you can also find the so called BodhiTree which has been grown from seeds of the original Bodhi tree which grew at the place where buddha shakyamuni reaced enlightenment. Branches of the Bodhi-Tree are supported by white sticks - a gesture which is offered to tourists for being able to do a good deed.
