These generators run at 1000 r. p. give a current at 2400 volts and 66 cycles per separate switchboard is used for the lighting circuits,and is placed at some distance from the railway board, so that any danger of the two departments being affected byeach other is obviated. About 150 kw is supplied by thestation for lighting, the street lighting of the town beingdone by both arc and incandescent lamps. The arc lamps,of which there are between fifty and sixty in nvtmber, areoperated on a constant-current circuit, a constant-current26ij--kw General Electric transformer being installed inthe power station.
