The Vogalonga is a non competitive race first held in 1975 with the message to protest against the growing number of powerboats in Venice and the swell damage they cause to the city. Any kind of rowing boat can take part and the course is 30 kilometrres long. The number of participants has grown to thousands from all over the World.
