The French pavilion at Expo 67, Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1967. The large concrete and steel structure was wrapped with tall aluminium fins. It was designed by Jean Faugeron and André Blouin. The France and Quebec pavilions, now interconnected, today form the Montreal Casino. Seen behind on the left is the British pavilion. The 1967 World Exposition (or World's Fair) – ‘Expo 67’ – was situated on island site on the St Lawrence River. Its theme was ‘Man and his World’. The elevated track round the site was a 3-loop monorail (here a train passes in foreground) – a vintage 1960s photograph.

The French pavilion at Expo 67, Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1967. The large concrete and steel structure was wrapped with tall aluminium fins. It was designed by Jean Faugeron and André Blouin. Inside its eight levels, displays converged towards a central atrium. The attraction lived on after 1967 during summer months and finally closed in 1981. The elevated track round the site was a 3-loop monorail called the ‘Minirail’ – here a train is travelling past the pavilion. This image is from an old amateur Kodak colour transparency taken by a visitor to the fair. It will look soft if used at too large a size – a vintage 1960s photograph.
