Grey sky view iron structure Eberswalder Strasse Subway Station, from Eberswalder Strasse Schionhauser Allee crossroads, Berlin

The Eberswalder Strasse Station is a raised iron structure on stone columns, designed by architect Alfred Gresander. It opened in 1913, when the station was named Danziger Strasse. The station closed at the end of World War 2, due to Allied bombing. The post-war division put it in the Russian Sector. In 1950 the station was re-named Dimitroffstrasse, in honour of Georgi Dimitrov, Bulgarian communist leader. The station's name changed to Eberswalder Strasse in 1991, after German re-unification.
