Italy. Rome. Mausoleum of emperor Hadrian or Castle Sant'Angelo. 2nd century. The bridge that links it with the city was erected between 1668 and 1671 and decorated with statues of angels with outstretched wings by Gian Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680). It currently houses an art museum and military.
