The Sound Tower, a sculpture that is part of the 'Structures On The Edge' project on the Lincolnshire coast
The Sound Tower, at the entrance to the beach at Chapel Six Marshes, Lincolnshire, was designed by Rhys Cannon and Matthew Springett. It is part of the Lincolnshire 'Structures On The Edge' (SOTE) project which asks designers to create structures that respond to the elements and the idea of being on the “edge,” placing an emphasis on the wind and sound at the shore. According to the project organisers, "The ‘Sound Tower’, creates a new landmark, a device that focuses and concentrates people’s senses and amplifies the windy nature of the site. The tower-like structure will be a clear point of reference in the landscape, identifiable from land, sea and beach."
