Mother and child, Baiga Tribe, Madhya Pradesh, Chada near Mandala district, India. Baiga means priest. Identified by their scanty dress, medium to short and tangled hair. Baiga women decorate their bodies with tattoos. Diet consists of roots, fruits, tubers and rice and grain, they eat pork rarely, consume milk and are fond of drinking mahua liquor. Veryfew children attend school. Tribeis found in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand states of India. After a death in family, the Baigas just leave the house and build another. They are totally dependent on jungle.
