The individualsections are about 8 to 10 mm. long and 3 mm. wide. These segments areeasily detachable, and are reddish-pink in color. This coloration is due. It has a small pear-shaped head, with twenty-four to thirty hooks and four sucking anterior links of the colony are always very short, and those atthe extreme end are elongated and narrow, 7 to 13 mm. long and 3 wide, white and shaped like a cucumber seed.
