You must getright up on the end of the brush andkeep the brush well filled with color, which should be slightly thicker thanwhat is commonly used. Work with afree arm movement and dont crampyour fingers up. For practice work rule out a blankcard with the guide lines as shown inthe practice chart and select variousstrokes or combinations of strokes andpractice them until each is perfect. Youcan go all over each letter in this wayand you will find it very helpful. The upper case of the chart shows agreat many plain lines which it shouldnot be hard to master. Balance up eachletter properly and dont forget that allstrokes should be the same width. A feature of this alphabet is that thecorners, as you will notice, are all cutoff with a little angle stroke, which is. very effective when they are joined upon a completed show card as you willnotice. Care should be taken not tospread the lettering too much over thesurface of the cards, and above all re-member to show plenty of white back-ground to make the lettering stand out May 17, 1918. 31 Mm mill illIIHI WEEKLY GROCERY MARKET REPORTS ^miiiiiniiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
