120523-N- AL752-098 GULF OF THAILAND (May 23, 2012) Marines assigned to the 4th Marine Regiment drive their amphibious assault vehicles toward Hat Yao Beach with a landing craft utility (LCU) from Beach Master Unit (BMU) 10 for a joint and Royal Thai Navy beach landing. The 4th Marines and BMU 10 are embarked aboard the amphibious dock landing ship USS Germantown (LSD 42) and are participating in Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) Thailand 2012. CARAT is a series of bilateral exercises held annually in Southeast Asia to strengthen relationships and enhance force readiness.
