This is a burn scar from a previous eruption of Mount Nyiragongo Volcano, Kibati, Virunga National Park, Parq National des Virunga, Democratic Republic of Congo. It is one of the most active volcanos in Africa and is also a popular tourist destination. The eruption responsible for this burn scar reached Goma in 2002.
