Light micrograph of the zonas glomerulosa and fasciculata of the adrenal cortex stained with a silver technique to demonstrate reticular fibres. The capsule is at top. Below it are oval cell nests of the zona glomerular. The parallel cords of the zona fasciculata occupy the lower two thirds. Between the cell cords there are connective tissue septa perpendicular to the capsule, where the blood vessels are located.
