On Saturday, August 18, 2012, Oklahoma OCS Classes 57 & 57A graduated from the State OCS program. During the graduation 1st Lt. Damon T. Leehan, of Moore. Okla., and 2nd Lt. Jered W. Ewy, of Edmond, Okla., were inducted into the Oklahoma OCS Hall of Fame. Leehan was killed on August 14, 2011, when a military vehicle he was riding in struck an improvised explosive device (IED). Leehan was the sixth Oklahoma National Guard Soldier killed in combat during the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team’s (IBCT) deployment to Afghanistan in 2011. Leehan, was a platoon leader with Company A, 1st Battalion

Ewy died July 29, 2011, while conducting a dismounted patrol in Afghanistan. He was the first of 14 Oklahoma Guardsman killed in combat during the 45th IBCT’s deployment in was a member of Company B, 1st Battalion, 279th Infantry, 45th IBCT, headquartered in Vinita, Okla.
