Chiang Saen is located in the far north of Thailand on the west bank of the River Mekong. Also known as the Golden Triangle where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar [Burma] Laos meet. Famed in its past for the production of opium the area was also rife to all types of smuggling. The image is of the gateway overlooking the Golden Triangle
