London Mayor Boris Johnson and Transport Secretary Patrick McLoughlin joined Network Rail's Chief Executive at the opening ceremony of Kings Cross Square, one of the final pieces of the station's £550m regeneration. Preceding the event "living statues" from the Victorian and other bygone eras interacted with commuters using the station. The station is at the hub of a £ billion regeneration of the Kings Cross are with new homes, offices, public and retail spaces.
