The image shows Mon-Plaisir Farm in Meurthe et Mosselle, France, during World War One. The photograph was taken on January 25, 1919, by GT. W. W. Bell. It depicts the German wire in front of the position occupied by the 3rd Battalion, 145th Infantry. This area was heavily manned by German machine guns, which controlled a significant portion of the front line of the 73rd Infantry, 37th Division.
