His father served in the Revolutionarywar; was a member of the Democratic party, auda member of the Orthodox Church of Scarborough,Cumberland Co. He lived upon the farm nowowned by his son Eli, and was a farmer by occu-pation. He died in his seventy-eighth year, in1835. His wife died in September, 1839, agedseventy-five.
