Spain, Catalonia. Peninsular War (1808-1814). Siege of Tarragona (1811). It confronted the French troops under the command of General Suchet against the Spanish troops led by Juan Senen de Contreras, military governor of the city. The fighting took place between 5 May and 29 June 1811, ending with the French occupation of the city. Tarragona remained under French control until Suchet's retreating on 13 August 1813.
