Coenzyme Q10, molecular model. This is the fully oxidised version of the molecule, known as ubiquinone. Coenzyme Q10 is involved in the electron transport chain that synthesises (ATP) adenosine triphosphate. It is therefore found in large quantities in mitochondria, the organelles that produce energy, in the form of ATP, for a cell. Coenzyme Q10 also acts as an antioxidant.
