The Kalij Pheasant (Lophura leucomelanos) is found in forests and thickets, especially in the Himalayan foothills, from Pakistan to western Thailand. It is closely related to the Silver Pheasant. The male in this image is the subspecies crawfurdi which has red legs and occurs in southwestern Thailand and southeastern Myanmar (east of the Irrawaddy River).
