The operating department of the Hospital (Fig. 72) at Hamburgis one of the most carefully worked out,so far as hygienic detail is attention is given to the heatingand ventilation (Fig. 72>) ; the air iswashed and filtered before entering theroom, and the direct heating units are en-tirely outside the walls. The equipmentis most carefullv designed. The accident department, on theground floor, gives access for ambulancepatients; the elevator reaching the firstfloor level. On the ground floor arethe receiving and waiting rooms, thetwo accident rooms, laboratories, morgueand store rooms.
