The first school house in the vicinity of Watsonto^vn was erected in was a log structure, and was situated near the bank of the run which flowsa short distance south of where the PhiLidelphia and Erie depot now name of the tirst teacher in this pioneer school house is not ascertainable,but. whoever he may have been, the youth of the cormnunity received therudiments of an education in this old log school house imtil 1800, when thesecond building was erected.
