Construction of this ornate building began in 1963, blending traditional Lao design with modern elements. In Lao culture, nagas are powerful protective spirits associated with water and fertility. Their presence at the chapel's entrance signifies both spiritual guardianship and royal authority. The Royal Palace Museum, also known as Haw Kham, was built in 1904 during the French colonial era as a residence for King Sisavang Vong.
