Anthracnose on a cabbage. Anthracnose is a mould that infects vegetables and plants. It initially appears on the skin surface as small water-soaked spots before spreading and deepening into the inner tissues of the plant. Eventually large rotted holes form, allowing other organisms to enter the fruit and rot it completely.
