This pad isattached to an elliptical and curved spring, making it very easy,and, at the same time, turning it upward, so as to allow thebelly to rest upon it. Behind are four pads, all of them onsmall curved sprmgs: two resting upon the small of the back,and two upon the weak hips. These can be raised or lowered,separated from, or approximated to each other, changing thepoint of contact, as the patient pleases. Cushions *can beapplied to the pads by means of the drilled holes, should it bedesired. It acts when pressure is wanted, and when the bodyis in a state of rest, is cool, light and comfortable ; it supportsall the weak parts, can be accommodated to a diversity of sizesand when well fitted, produces no inconvenience.
