Lepadella patella rotifers, micrograph

Six Lepadella patella rotifers, light micrograph. Lepadella patella rotifers are free-swimming, aquatic micro-organisms with a body that is divided into three sections. The mouth is surrounded by cilia, which is best seen on the leftmost specimen. These cilia are used for catching food particles suspended in the water. The rounded body ends with a short foot. Darkfield illumination.
