Wray, Lancaster, Friday 26th April, 2013. Horse Meat for sale at the Scarecrow Festival, established 1995 with wacky scarecrows constructed by the villagers to raise funds for charities, including the church and local school. The theme for 2013 is “I read – Books” a ‘cultural’ highlight of the Lune Valley's calendar. Thousands of visitors come to the village to admire the skill and humour of the local residents and it really is a great display of community spirit.
“There’s been horse meat in our burgers for donkeys years” “Our meat has to clear several hurdles before it goes on sale.” “Our burgers are all DN Neigh tested” “Treat yourself to a side saddle and neighonnaise.”
