The parentsbeing dead, the two sisters and brother lived together, and asthe younger sister grew up she moved from Bethany and took upher residence at Magdala. where, living a life of sin, she becamenotorious as j\Iary of Magdala, or Mary Magdalene, until arousedby the preaching of our Lord in the vicinity of her town, and laterpardoned by Him in the house of Simon the Pharisee.
