The interior region, of which Hudson wasthe mart, embraced not only Columbia county, but a largeportion of Berkshire county, Mass., and something of thenorthwestern part of Connecticut. The mention of the city of Hudson was madeby John Lambert, an English tourist, in a narrative of histravels through this section, in November, 1807.
