Thechurch has had the following deacons, viz. : JosephEmerson, Elijah Lyon, Jacob Whitcomb, jr., andLewis Freeman. The church in 1848, took strongground against slavery, and passed certain resolu-tions, drafted by Rev. J. L. Sanborn, condemningthe system as sinful and iniquitous, and disapprovingfellowship with slaveholders or their apologists. UNITARIAN SOCIETY.
