Ravines are crossed and overhead massive walls of rock look as ifthe slightest commotion would topple them from their bases into theyawning chasms beneath. Mountain streams toss and foam throughthe gorges, and when there is a heavy rainfall these swell and foamwith the fury of miniature cataracts.
