Flesh bright scarlet and very sugary. Thin-skinned, but bears carriage well, which, together with its large size, will make it an exceedlingly popular variety. Pkt. 5c, oz. 10, % lb. 25c, 1 lb, 80c, postpaid. Onions A strong, deep, rich and loamy soil is most suitable for this crop. Muck beds well drained to the depth of two feet give large yields. The ground should be heavily dressed with well rotted ma- nure, and plowed a moderated depth, taking a narrow furrow in order to more thoroughly mix the manure with soil, if possible the plowing should be done in the fall. As early in the spring as the ground is in working order harrow it thoroughly and make as fine and level as possible, sow thinly in drills one-fourth inch deep and fourteen inches apart. Keep the surface of the ground open and free from weeds, but do not ridge up to the growing bulbs. One ounce will sow 100 feet of drill, 4 to 5 pounds to the acre. Market gardeners and others requiring Onion seed in large quantities should write for special ' rices.
