Marine of "A" Co., First Battalion, Fourth Marines hits the deck upon landing in "Landing Zone Bat" during Operation DeSoto. The company encountered sniper fire during the heli-lift into enemy territory, resulting in damage to over half of the engaged aircraft. This photo was taken during Operation Dockhouse/Desoto, approximately 50 miles south of Chu Lai.
