Albanosmilus jordani (isolated on white background). Barioofelido of the Miocene of Europe.

These feliforms had a robust structure but also had quite long limbs, it is thought that they were ambush predators although they could have had versatility when hunting adapting to a semi-long run. A distinctive feature of this particular species is its long canine teeth, not because of their length that were characteristic of their family, but because they are more curved back than any other known Feliform. This feature suggests that your mandibular opening should be greater than normal. Previously it was thought that they were components of the Feliforme Nimravidae family of cats with false saber teeth. He was assigned to Barbourofelinae by Bryant (1991).
