Rev. Franklin Hawkins, maternalgrandfather of Mr. Hulser, was a clergyman of the^lethodist Episcopal church and passed the closingyears of his life in the state of New York. GeorgeHulser was but seven years of age at the time of hisparents immigration from Germany to the L^nitedStates, and he was reared to manhood in the stateof New York.
