The flowers are often a foot or more across, larger than the Auratum Lily, and with colors, which for purity ami inten- sity are truly marvels. Their great superiority over all other Amaryllis is acknowledged. Atlantic—Fiery crimson, almost scarlet, with orange tint; lightly shaded at base of petals with greenish-white and crimson. Goidstone-like glisten. Large strong heavy stalk. Long strong light foliage. Four flowers to a stalk. Flowers IK inches across. $ each. Contrast—Light crimson, lined and shaded darker crimson, with broad bands and featherings of suowy white. Broad petals; flat, wide open flower. Foliage extremely short and compact: flowers, 6 to 8 inches across. $ each. Distinction—Enormous flower of great beauty. Probably the finest of all Amaryllis. Brilliant scarlet, widely banded white.
