'St. Stephen's Cathedral, Vienna', (1907). The composer Joseph Haydn (1732-1809) studied at the choir school in the Austrian capital from the age of about 7. After being auditioned in 1739 by Georg von Reutter, the cathedral's director of music, Haydn spent the next nine years as a chorister, living with von Reutter and his family.
