Neurofeedback

Reportage in a neurofeedback practice in France. Neurofeedback is a technique that allows real time electrical brain activity to be analysed to try and intuitively improve brain function. In practice, sensors are placed on the skull and ears. Electrical signals are detected using an electroencephalogram which passes information on to a dedicated application. The practitioner runs the software while a « multimedia » activity is delivered to the patient, here in the form of music. During the listening phase, the system informs the brain of the dynamics of the signals it is emitting, it can then learn to spontaneously correct them thanks to extremely sophisticated software and can therefore emit stable and balanced signals. On the screen, the practitioner can see a graph of patient responses during the entire session.
